<reviewbody>Yearning for the days when boys grew up to be bigger boys, when all a woman needed was to be nuzzled by her man's horse to be happy, when one could simply take other folks' property when it suited them? Welcome back to the late '40's. Watch and try not to critique (bet you can't) as you rip open the popcorn bag. Perfect adolescent entertainment. I wonder what the horse was thinking during the shooting production.
I had no idea that Cameron Mitchell made movies like this. It must have been one of his earlier works. The print is a bit jumpy, digitized in spots and oversaturated but still watchable.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I thought this was "Gallant Bess", not "The Adventures of Gallant Bess", so my previous comment isn't true. However, Bess did star as herself in this movie as well.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>And Bess the wonder horse.. what was the horse thinking? probably when are they gonna give me some more oats? Am i gonna have to sleep out in the rain tonight? I wish they'd do something about these flies..
I don't really think Bess had real deep thoughts in the making of this movie..but ya never know.. maybe she was talking to her financial consultant.. LOL

Well the only surprise what that Bess didn't come back with Bill the wonder horse.. other than that it was good old fashion wholesome man on top, woman on bottom, get it over with quick entertainment where the kinkiest thing they do is to hug n kiss the horse which is OK by me.

Cameron Mitchell is Ted Daniels, a wondering cowpoke who catches a great horse, Bess and teaches her all kinds of neeto tricks, but his former crummy boss sets him up to get hurt in a rodeo so he can buy his horse at a police auction so after Ted heels up and falls in love with the doctors daughter he finds Bess and naturally has to beat up the crummy boss for good measure. Kind of choppy in places and the color almost will blind you, but it's good old fashion entertainment with the kinkiest thing being mild bestiality with a sloppy kiss from a horse.</reviewbody>
